Danone is committed to preserving water springs and the natural environment, by encouraging water circulation in and around production sites, and providing safe drinking water for people and communities in need.

CARBON

Danone is committed to becoming a carbon neutral company by 2050

Danone Indonesia pledged in our 2015 Climate Policy to be a carbon neutral company by 2050 across our value chain. Our net zero carbon commitment means that we are responsible for carbon emissions from where we supply our materials to the facilities that manage packaging after our products are consumed.

OUR COMMITMENT FOR HEALTH

INNOVATION AND SOLUTION

Indonesia still has challenges to overcome health problems in the early stages of life. Danone Indonesia through Nutricia and Sarihusada with more than 60 years of experience has taken initiatives to meet the needs for the child and maternal nutrition products through research, product development, and education activities. In 2019, Danone inaugurated the opening of the Danone SN Indonesia Research & Innovation (R&I) Center located at the Sarihusada factory, Muja Muju, Yogyakarta. This international standard research and innovation facility is equipped with the latest scientific and technological expertise to be able to encourage Danone's efforts in Indonesia to develop nutritional product innovations that play an important role in helping to deal with the latest health issues in Indonesia as stunting and anemia. With our business capacity on a global scale, we also collaborate with experts in their fields both on a national and global scale to present innovations and solutions for the nutritional and health needs of the people in Indonesia.

EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT

Together Prevent Stunting is an initiative of Danone Indonesia together with strategic partners in the Government sector and leading organizations to promote a stunting prevention movement that integrates our flagship program on two important issues, namely specific and sensitive nutrition interventions. Within the umbrella of this movement, we have various initiatives such as:

FILL MY PLATE

Promoting balanced nutrition consumption for children aged 4-6 through education for teachers, parents and children at early childhood education age

GESID

Through GESID (Gerakan Sehat Indonesia) Danone Indonesia aims to provide understanding and awareness to young Indonesians about the importance of health and nutrition for adolescents, the importance of the first 1000 days of life, and also character building.

Healthy Children’s Shop

Empowering school canteen shop owners to manage healthy canteens in schools to provide healthy snacks and drinks for students. The program also educates teachers, parents and salespeople.

Gasing Nekmese

The Stunting Free Generation Program through Family Education Towards Healthy Nutrition (GASING NEKMESE) is to provide an understanding of stunting prevention involving the community by using an educational approach about a clean and healthy lifestyle and also the importance of nutrition for families in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara.

Let’s Drink Water

Education on the importance of consuming healthy hydration for children as much as 6-8 glasses per day.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia

As an effort to support access to education for children who have challenges in various regions in Indonesia, Danone Indonesia has established a partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) to provide Education Access Support and Nutrition Improvement for Students in order to support Merdeka Belajar Program.

Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI)

Collaboration between Nutricia and IMERI FK UI to support the pre-senior and senior population to prepare various efforts so that people can stay healthy as they getting older through the launch of a Module for health workers entitled Healthy Aging Module as a Prevention Strategy for Non-Communicable Diseases in Elderly population.

Indonesian Hydration Working Group (IHWG)

Partnership with IHWG to raise awareness of the importance of proper hydration in daily life and provide knowledge regarding healthy hydration and health to the wider community, including information related to fluid needs with special conditions such as pregnant and lactating women, the elderly, and children.

Indonesian Nutrition Association (INA)

Danone Indonesia collaborates with the Indonesian Nutrition Association (INA) in increasing public knowledge about the importance of nutrition and its relationship to environmental health for the health of the nation as well as the use of digital media for nutrition and health education such as webinars and podcasts.

Partnership with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN)

As the agency that has been appointed by the Government as the Head of the Implementing Program for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction, the BKKBN realizes that cooperation with several strategic partners is needed to accelerate its efforts. BKKBN and Danone Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding and synergized the two parties’ strategic programs to prevent stunting. BKKBN has a flagship program, namely Bangga Kencana to support the acceleration of stunting reduction in Indonesia, where Danone Indonesia also has an umbrella

WISE Program

A program that aims to develop a health and safety culture in all Danone locations in order to significantly reduce the number of workplace accidents.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Women's Empowerment Program

AQUA Home Service

An empowerment program for housewives through a series of workshops and education about finance and micro & small businesses by becoming AQUA’s goodwill ambassador.

Rumah Tempe

A program that provides mentoring, training, and supporting facilities so that the community can create economic opportunities by making healthy tempe.

Rumah Bunda Sehat

An integrated program to increase knowledge for moms from underprivileged families about nutrition, mentoring, food processing skills and entrepreneurship.

Recycling Business Unit (RBU)

Overall collecting used plastic bottles from scavengers, waste banks, drop boxes and various business actors spread across Jakarta and surrounding areas. One of them is “Koperasi Pemulung Berdaya Tangerang Selatan” which employs more than 58 people, 60% of whom are women.

Stellar Women Academy

Women’s MSME Empowerment Program on business continuity while inspiring them to taking their business as an agent of change for the goodness.
